ENSURING LAND OWNERSHIP

The destruction of agricultural property rights in 2000 and nationalisation of the land by the Mugabe regime has destroyed the Zimbabwean economy.

The provision of titled land for all in Zimbabwe requires:

  • The abolition of state land ownership

  • Property rights must be restored in the commercial agricultural sector

  • Property rights must be instituted in the communal areas

  • Property rights must be instituted in the resettlement areas

  • Amending the racially biased 2013 constitution to protect the property rights of all

  • The restoration of law and order

Under the current Zimbabwean constitution, property remains unprotected.  Power-hungry, predatory politicians resist giving the people ownership because they want to control them by controlling the land that they live on. Since 70% of Zimbabweans live in the rural areas, this has enabled the ruling party to control the vote.  Karl Marx outlined how easily a peasant population living in “dependence” can be manipulated and subjugated.

"What does the Lord require of you? To act justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."
