Sir Jeffrey Jowell KCMG QC
Sir Jeffrey is a practising barrister in Blackstone Chambers in London. He was the Founder Director of the Bingham Centre for the Rule of Law (2010-15) and is Emeritus Prof of Public Law at UCL. He is a leading authority on public law. In 2011, he was knighted “for services to human rights, democracy and the rule of law”. Comment: “I am proud to support the MCF’s rule of law initiatives in Zimbabwe.
Dr Craig Richardson
Craig Richardson is BB&T Distinguished Professor of Economics at Winston-Salem State University, North Carolina, USA. His broad research interests include property rights and their importance for economic growth. He is the author of The Collapse of Zimbabwe in the Wake of the 2000-2003 Land Reforms (2004). Comment: “I am deeply honoured to help promote the mission of the MCF, with its focus on secure property rights for all.”
Leigh Middleditch
Leigh Middleditch serves as counsel in the Charlottesville, Virginia office of McGuireWoods LLP, and as vice president of McGuireWoods Consulting LLC. He has served as president of the University of Virginia Law Association and is a trustee of the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation. Comment: “The MCF is doing great work in Zimbabwe and I am honoured to be an advocate.”
Richard Oldfield
Richard Oldfield is chairman of a boutique investment management firm in London, Oldfield Partners, and a director of Witan Investment Trust plc and Shepherd Neame Ltd. He is a trustee of the Canterbury Cathedral Trust and president of Demelza House Children’s Hospice. Comment: “I have been a fan of the MCF since it started and am delighted to be one of its ambassadors, to support human rights in Zimbabwe.”
Anthony Shillington
Initially as a trustee of the MCF, Anthony Shillington played a key role in its development. A graduate of Trinity College Dublin, he taught in Senegal before a career in international companies, in marketing and communications. Subsequent work in the charitable sector, pre-MCF, included directing a substantial fundraising campaign in the education sector. Comment: “The MCF is committed to ensuring that Zimbabwe has a future that is both just and humane for all its peoples.”
Jenny Barraclough
Jenny Barraclough OBE is a highly-acclaimed British film and television producer who has documented the legacies of Martin Luther King and Mahatma Gandhi, as well as producing two films on Robert Mugabe before and after Zimbabwe’s independence. Comment:“Reading about Ben's life is humbling. He has shown the most extraordinary courage during these long years of often terrifying intimidation. The least we can do is give him our support from safe, comfortable London.”
