Bronkhorstspruit Water Treatment Works system optimisation for water conservation and water demand management. The study included mapping the entire water treatment works in terms of size, assets, individual capacity and combined capacity and conditional assessment of each component of the water treatment works. The study was undertaken for the National Department of Water Affairs and Forestry (as it was known at the time of appointment) under the late Mr. Nigel Adams.

Margate Sewerage Treatment Works return flow audit for water conservation and water demand management and system optimisation. Funded by Danish Co-operation for Environment and Development (DANCED), the study was undertaken to determine the conditional assessment of the sewage contribution zones, all the pump stations, and the sewage treatment infrastructure. The BOD and COD was correlated with rainfall data to measure the influence of infiltration and exfiltration on the treatment process. The conditional assessment was carried out for the treatment works to eliminate internal contributing factors relating to the works.
